DNA analysis is performed using an Applied BioSystems Inc. (ABI) capillary electrophoresis platform and ABI PCR Amplification kits (Profiler Plus^TM, Cofiler^TM and Identifiler^TM) to analyze Short Tandem Repeat (STR) loci.  These include the 13 CODIS (COmbined DNA Index System) Core Loci D3S1358, vWA, FGA, D8S1179, D21S11, D18S51, D5S818, D13S317, D7S820, D16S539, CSF1P0, TH01 and TPOX as well as amelogenin for gender determination and STR loci D19S433 and D2S1338.
